Nissan Altima is one of the most popular mid size sedan and we have prepared a 2011 Nissan Altima review on the fourth generation of car. The Altima is used Nissan D platform sharing it with many other cars including Nissan Murano SUV and various Nissan and Renault models. The car was assembled in 2 factories in the USA and one in Japan.
The car is available with 2 engines – 4 cylinder straight 2.5L producing 175 hp and 3.5L V6 with the output of 270 hp. 6-speed manual transmission came as a standard with optional CVT transmission instead of conventional automatic.
2011 Nissan Altima was available in several different trim levels: the 2.5 Base included 2.5L I4 engine only, 6-speed manual transmission, audio wiring with 4 speakers, keyless entry with start button, 16-inch steel wheels;
2.5S came with X-tronic CVT transmission, audio system with AM/FM radio and CD/MP3 disc playback with auxiliary input and 6 speakers. Special edition 2.5S added fog lights, rear spoiler, leather steering wheel, 16-inch alloy wheels and was available only as sedan.
3.5L SR includes V6 3.5L engine, satellite radio, 6 disc CD changer, iPod and USB connectivity, Bluetooth and voice recognition system, Bose premium sound system with 9 speakers and subwoofer, 18-inch alloy wheels.

Nissan Altima 2011 coupe
The Nissan Altima 2011 coupe modification has been produced only 5 years – from 2008 to 2013. It has shorter wheelbase, shorter in length and lower in height. The car comes with the same two engines as a sedan – 2.5 I4 and 3.5 V6. The performance of V6 model is spectacular for that class – 5.9 seconds to 60 miles per hour according to Road and Track magazine measurements.
2011 Nissan Altima 2.5S review
This variant of forth generation Nissan Altima is one of the most popular. It has 4 cylinder engine and middle range trim level. People admit that CVT transmission is one of the best of its kind, and has even sporty character with 2.5 engine, which seems to be underpowered at first. The car is very comfortable thanks to variety of adjustments for both seat and steering wheel. The upholstery materials are also very high-quality. 2011 Nissan Altima hybrid review
The hybrid Nissan Altima is the first hybrid car built by Nissan. It was introduced in 2007 and was in production until 2011. Hybrid system was licensed from Toyota, and the car was available only in 10 U.S. states and in Canada.
The Altima hybrid features the same 2.5L 4-cylinder engine as standard Altima but depowered to 158 hp. Electric motor adds 40 hp and the overall hybrid powertrain output is 198 hp. The transmission is CVT.
The fuel consumption rating, which is the most important for hybrid vehicle is following: 35 mpg in city, 33 mpg in highway, measured by EPA.
Hybrid Nissan Altima was available in only one trim level with satellite radio, CD MP3 single disc audio system with auxiliary input and 6 speakers and 16-inch alloy wheels.
