2015 Ram 1500 Is The Real All-Purpose Vehicle


Full-size pickup Dodge Ram 1500 of the next fourth generation, has met the official premiere in January 2008 at the international motor show in Detroit. And in 2009 Ram was allocated to a separate brand of Ram Trucks. The length of the car varies from 208.9″ to 229″, height – from 74.5 to 75.7″, but the width is unchanged in each case and is 79.4″. Depending on the version, the wheelbase varies from 120.5″ to 140.5″.

The Ram 1500 is no less brutal and the interior is a heavy multi-function steering wheel with a four-spoke design, an informative combination of instruments with analog dials and a 3.5-inch TFT display and a massive front panel with a monumental console centered with a 7-inch multimedia center screen, climate control and stereo. However, in the basic trims, the design is much simpler.

2015 Ram 1500 Has Rich Equipment

The interior of the truck is made using mainly from high-quality materials – high-quality plastics, “metal” inserts, pleasant fabric and genuine leather in top trim levels. The front seats of the full-size pickup are equipped with flat seats with poorly developed profile and large ranges of settings, and optionally supplemented with ventilation and electric adjustment. The second row of seats on the variant with a crew cabin is represented by a full three-seater (although with a short pillow in the center), offering comfortable accommodation for even adult passengers.

The main advantage of the Ram 1500 fourth generation is the solid cargo capabilities. Depending on the type of cabin, the length of the platform is extended by 67.4-98.2″, its depth is 20-20.2″, but the width between the arches of the wheels is 50.9″ for all versions. The useful volume of the cargo compartment varies from 50.2 to 71.2 cubic feet. On board the pickup is able to take a load of up to 1930 lbs, while simultaneously towing a trailer weighing up to 10450 lbs.

2015 Ram Has 3 Gasoline 1 Diesel Engines

The fourth generation Ram 1500 has three petrol and one diesel engines available to choose from, combined with a 6- or 8-speed automatic transmission, rear or four-wheel drive. The basic version of the car is equipped with a petrol V-shaped six-cylinder unit with displacement of 3.6 liters, equipped with multi-jet fuel injection and 24-valve timing DOHC, which generates 305 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 269 ft lb of torque at 4175 rpm. The intermediate variant is a 4.7-liter petrol V8, distributed fuel injection and 16-valve timing SOHC, a peak producing 310 HP at 5650 rpm and 330 ft lb of torque, which is realized at 3,950 rpm.

Under the hood of top-end trucks is occupied by the petrol V8 HEMI with distributed fuel supply, 16-clamp timing with chain drive, VVT system and the “Start/Stop” function. With a working volume of 5.7 liters, its ultimate engine reaches 395 HP at 5600 rpm and 408 ft lb of torque at 3950 rpm. Full-size pickup also has a diesel powerplant, which is the 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine with 240 horsepower (at 3600 rpm), which develops 419 ft lb of peak torque at 2000 rpm.

At the heart of the Ram 1500 is a powerful ladder frame, on which the steel cabin and body are perched. Front on the truck has independent scheme with upper and lower A-shaped levers and screw springs is applied, at the rear – a lever-spring architecture with two-tube shock absorbers and a stabilizer of lateral stability.

Optionally, it could use air suspension with five modes of operation, allowing you to adjust the ground clearance in the range from 170 to 270 mm. Steering rack type on the pickup is based on a modern electric amplifier with variable characteristics. 1500 has a powerful braking system with 2-piston front and 1-piston rear mechanisms is used, ventilated disks with a diameter of 336 and 352 mm respectively, as well as the ABS system.
