In Geneva debuted the new 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

At the Motorshow in Geneva 2015 debuted the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS in 991 body. The novelty is built on base of the usual 911 GT3, but turned out to be powerful, lighter and faster its source.

To distinguish 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the original spoiler, ventilation slits in the front wings, a modified rear bumper, and extended rear fenders with air intlets.

The cabin of the coupe is almost the same to GT3common version  and flaunts sports seats with carbon-fiber basis, made of carbon fiber inserts and covered with Alcantara steering wheel, ceiling and door panels. Almost racing seats-buckets with Alcantara trim, dual-zone climate control, seven-inch touch screen on the center console, audio system with four speakers and MP3 connection – equipment for basic models. Optional is “Sport Chrono Package”, plus to the traditional stopwatch includes lap preparation sensor and smartphone Porsche Track Precision app, with which you can analyze the time battle results.

New Porsche 911 GT RS 2016 received a 4.0-L naturally aspirated opposite six-cyl engine of 500HP and develops a maximum torque of 460Nm (the same was the older 911 GT3 RS 4.0). Coupled a motor exclusively with 7-speed robotized dual clutch PDK gearbox, and already in the basic equipment included electronicly locking differential, “Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus” active traction distribution and full-controlled chassis as the original GT3.

In addition, the Germans say they improved aerodynamics, which increased the front wheels downforce. Front and rear track widened options. Fully customizable aluminum suspension schematically still (McPherson and multi-link suspension), but all the elements in it, including adaptive dampers, are the same as the current GT3. Spring compared with conventional Carrer shortened by 30mm, and, of course, like the GT3, GT3 RS has received full controlled chassis and an active rear gearbox with electronically controlled lock. On the front axle are piston calipers, rear – four-piston. The diameter of the brake discs reaches 380mm. Carbon brake discs are available for an extra charge.

As a result, the weight of the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is 1 420kg – 85kg lighter than standard GT3 and 10kg lighter than previous generation. In addition, according to the manufacturer, 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS aerodynamics generates more downforce at high speeds, providing better straight-line stability and cornering.
