Subaru crosses the borders and makes the ultimate hybrid between a perfect mileage, with the best elements from both a hatchback and a SUV, Subaru packages it into a small all-purpose all-wheel-drive vehicle in the 2016 Crosstrek. It can be said to have been inspired from the Impreza, also by Subaru but they have built upon its roots to deliver a great product. The suspension has been greatly improved, and the car looks meaner and tougher with rear fascias, and the fender flares. It has however, not impressed some in the acceleration department where it severely lacks ground.
2016 Subaru XV Crosstrek Review
With the Subaru name people come to expect the power and speed cars like Subaru’s Impreza WRX or STI provide, but from the get go it become clear that with the XV Crosstrek Subaru look to be aiming at a different audience since the power and aggression the Crosstrek’s cousins provide are missing and in its place are the more economically friendly better mileage and better bang for the lower budget buck. It certainly has struck a chord with the Subaru crowd who look to be ditching other modified Imprezas for this lower budget Crosstrek.
The 2016 Crosstrek isn’t necessarily a SUV, a hatchback or a sedan. Yes, it does borrow from all those respects, especially from the Impreza hatchbacks but it does not limit itself to a certain field. It performs in all respects without sacrificing its usefulness in the other. Sounds a bit confusing yes but it becomes clear when you are in the car.
The 2016 Crosstrek comes in the standard manual and CVT automatic standard setups, which the customers can choose from at the time of purchase. The transmission is a five speed transmission with Subarus’ Lineartronic CVT engine. This gives you a horsepower of 148. The acceleration is okay. Like I said it has not impressed a lot of people but we found it to be adequate for an engine of this caliber.

2016 Subaru Crosstrek Interior
The interior was a major complaint in the previous models and while Subaru has improved it still has a lackluster sense to it. The new black and silver trims on the dashboard give the interior a somewhat of a good ‘professional’ look. The steering wheel and gear shift have also been revised and look pretty decent. The biggest change is the orange lining that livens up the car.
