2017 Audi A7 leans to the asphalt with twin-turbo


The new 2017 Audi A7 is scheduled to be released mid-2017 will get a striking new look and will be geared toward being a sporty, thanks to being wider and lower.

According to Marc Lichte, chief designer at Audi, the second generation A7 work has been completed, and the design is being classed as ‘radical’.

Audi has recently presented the Prologue concept in Los Angeles, and it is this that will determine how the new Audi’s look. The A6, A7 and A8 have all been developed simultaneously, and Lichte says that they will all look different from each other and from other, existing Audi models; the A7 being the most noticeably different. The basis for the fastback is the MLB Evo platform and the engine will come from the next-gen A8.

The car is scheduled to be released mid-2017.

2017 Audi A7 redesign

This next generation of Audi will be based heavily on the Audi Prologue concept, first shown back on 2014. Although the new car will look sportier and more aggressive thanks in part to the wide, low body.

The new car will get various aerodynamic tweaks, LED lights (front & rear), new fenders and redesigned grille.
In the cabin, there will be a new touchscreen media system fitted.

It’s expected that the new A7 will be packed with tech, perhaps even some form of autonomous driver aid also; Audi have been playing with such a system in their test cars. Another great feature will be the navigation service known as ‘Here’, which is also available in the same spec BMW and Mercedes-Benz models.

Under the hood are a range of power-plants, in both gasoline and diesel; 2.0 liter fitted with an electric turbocharging system (326 BHP), 3.0 liter V6 (fitted to the S7) and the flagship V8 in the RS7, producing 575 BHP.
There will also be a V6 diesel, producing 350 BHP.
