New BMW X6 and M sport Redesigned and Get New Powertrains

BMW has recently revealed the next generation of its famous coupe-crossover X6. It has been shown at Paris Auto Show in 2016. The concept of the vehicle remains the same – it is mid-sized premium SUV with curve shaped rear end, based on more standard looking X5.

Although the unveiling of the model won’t happen until October, there has been plenty of information released by BMW about the new model.

What to Choose

The X6 has only three main trim levels and two powertrain options. There are plenty of options and packages available for X6, but we review the standard equipment level for each trim option. You could order 2017 X6 in sDrive35i, xDrive 35i or xDrive 50i.

There is also special X6 M with a high-output turbocharged engine.

For 2017 model year, all trims gained $800 for a new design 19-inch rims.

As it traditional for BMW brand, all its cars have a rich equipment. X6 is not an exception – it has almost everything you might want in standard trim. Everything except all-wheel drive. Strangely, the initial trim has only rear-wheel drive – letter ‘s’ in sDrive is likely to stands for the sport.

Exterior wise, sDrive35i has LED foglights, xenon adaptive headlights; 19-inch alloy wheels; chromed exhaust pipe; heated power exterior mirrors (with power folding). What is interesting, metallic paint is available only for the extra charge.

It has 10,2″ screen, support voice commands, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, BMW Apps support, and 200 GB hard drive for your files (only 20 GB available for audio). The sound system has 9 speakers and digital amp.

There are also a whole bunch of features you may find in less expensive cars: engine start-stop button with keyless entry; cruise control; 2-zone climate control; rain sensor; all power windows; power tailgate; heated front seats; 2-way powered sunroof; front and rear park sensors.

In terms of safety features, there is a full set for premium – all kinds of airbags (except knee one), ABS and other auxiliary systems.

You may already guess that this version adds to the previous almost none except the all-wheel drive layout. Traditionally, xDrive or just ‘x’ refers to AWD system in BMW cars. This version is also comes with stability control system, traction and brake control, hill descent control.

Both sDrive and xDrive could be ordered with various of packages added even more equipment. For instance, driving assistant package (adds rear view camera); cold weather package (heated steering wheel and rear seats; headlight washers); luxury seating package which adds ventilated front seats, and many more.

This version comes with a powerful V8 engine, so it is available only with the xDrive all-wheel drive system. There is no much change in comparison with less powerful versions. Namely, xDrive50i comes with 4-zone climate with controls for rear passengers, and Sirius XM sattelite radio support. More changes you could find in packages list – some of them are already included in

More changes you could find in packages list – some of them are already included in standard configuration. For V8-powered X6 executive package is available with ceramic controls, rear side windows shades and soft close automatic doors – this makes SUV feels a bit like executive sedan.
