Only A Minor Changes For Chevrolet Colorado

In October 2011, as part of the automotive exhibition in Bangkok, the world premiere of the production version of the mid-size Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck of the second generation was held, which in comparison with its predecessor, pretty much outwardly and inwardly changed and acquired modern stuffing.

Two years later, in Los Angeles, the car debuted in a specification for the North American market, which not only tried on a different design but also received notable differences in technical terms. What are the difference for 2017 model year car?

Looking Nice

Externally, the second generation of the Chevrolet Colorado looks neat, recognizable and very brutal. For a brute force in the shape of the car, a brave front end with a figured hood and a large radiator grille and swollen wheel arches respond, and the delicate contours of light engineering, rising to the stern of the window sill line and pleasantly looking wheel disks rims a stylish component.

Colorado of the second generation is available with a one-and-a-half or double cabin – Extended Cab and Crew Cab respectively. The overall length of the pickup is 212-228″, the height is 70.3″, the width is 74.2″, the distance between the axles is 128.2″. Depending on the modification, the ground clearance of the truck is from 8.1 to 8.3 inches.

What’s Inside

Inside Chevrolet Colorado flaunts a beautiful looking and modern interior, completely devoid of utilitarianism – a visual toolkit of the on-board computer, a weighty multifunction steering wheel and a well-consolidated central console with a color screen of a multimedia system and an ergonomic console of the air conditioning system. The decoration of the car is finished with sufficiently rigid plastics and fabric or leather, depending on the version.

Interior of second generation Colorado, in addition to the two front seats with unobtrusive lateral support and a solid range of settings, has either a conditional bench behind them for a couple of passengers (in a one-and-a-half cabin) or a full three-seater sofa (in a four-door version).

Chevrolet Colorado’s towing and lifting characteristics depend on the version: the pick-up capacity ranges from 2204 lbs to 3086 lbs, and the weight of the towed trailer reaches 7716 lbs. The car has a spacious onboard platform, the maximum volume of which is 50 cubic feet.

The engine range of Colorado includes three power units that operate in conjunction with a 6-speed manual or automatic, rear-wheel drive transmission or a connected all-wheel drive of Part Time type with transfer case and downshift. Under the hood of the base pickup, a naturally-aspirated petrol unit of 2.5 liters with four cylinders, variable phases of gas distribution and direct fuel injection, produces 200 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 191 ft lb of torque at 4400 rpm.

Top versions of the Chevrolet Colorado are equipped with a six-cylinder non-turbocharged 3.6 liter V6 with direct injection technology that generates 305 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 269 ft lb of torque at 4000 rpm. An alternative to gasoline engines is the four-cylinder 2.8-liter Duramax diesel with the inline layout, direct fuel injection and turbocharging, which has 180 horsepower and 346 ft lb of maximum capacity. Colorado of the second generation is built on the rear-wheel drive GMT 31XX platform with a powerful ladder frame in the base and longitudinally located in the engine compartment of the power plant. On the front axle of the mid-sized pickup, an independent suspension is used on the twin levers mounted transversely, with two-tube shock absorbers, and a dependent architecture with leaf springs is used from the rear. The car is equipped with a rack and pinion steering system with electric power steering, and all its wheels hide disc brakes (ventilated in front) with ABS, EBD and some other assistants.

The initial equipment of the car includes six airbags, a multimedia center with a color screen, a rear-view camera, ESP, ABS with EBD, a lift assistance function, power windows of all doors, a multifunction steering wheel, a standard audio system, 16-inch wheels, air conditioning And many other gadgets.
