Only A Minor Changes For 2017 Chevrolet Colorado

Recently worldwide version of Chevy’s mid-size pickup has been updated, but it wasn’t affected US-spec model. However, the truck was finally updated with a minor changes inside – those affect upholstery and equipment set. Nevertheless, we could also expect some technical changes in the 2017 model year Colorado.

The release date of an updated pickup truck is likely to be scheduled for the end of 2016 or in the beginning of 2017. Since this is only a minor update, Colorado 2017 can be launched without a special presentation.

Release date: late 2016 – early 2017

Update: already available

Price updated Colorado in 2017 is likely to remain at the same level. Thus, the starting price expected of around $22,000.

Update: The truck price starts from $20,995 up to $42,620.

Exterior and Interior

The latest generation of Colorado debuted recently – at the end of 2015. Therefore, we do not expect serious changes in pickup truck’s appearance. In addition, it looks more modern than many of competitors, as well as the related GM models.

What we really should expect from the MY 2017 truck is the emergence of new equipment levels, the new colors for the interior and exterior. Also, it is likely to top trim level called LTZ appeared, as well as the Colorado High Country. Fans hoping to the emergence of a special off-road version ZR2.

The truck will keep the three cabin options, such as crew cab (5.2 and 6.2 ft bed) and extended cab (6.2 ft bed).

The interior of the pickup is likely to remain unchanged. This year, it received an update of multimedia systems and other minor updates. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that we will see something new in the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado interior besides new color schemes/upholstery materials.

Currently, the truck is available with three engines. The initial 4-cylinder 2.5L Ecotec producing 200 HP, more powerful LFX V6 engine with 3.6-liter displacement producing 305 HP. A third option is a diesel unit, which is 2.8-liter 4-cylinder Duramax turbodiesel, firstly applied to Colorado in 2015. The truck is rear wheel drive with AWD available as an option. Gearboxes are either 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

2017 model year truck is possible to get some technical improvements. So, instead of 6-speed transmission, it will get a brand new 8-speed gearbox (while diesel approximately keeps 6-speed auto). It will be mated with the new upgraded V6 engine, with the same displacement (it will be LGX model instead of LFX). The V6 one also gets Start / Stop system.
