2017 Chevy Suburban Top Configurations Gets New Name, Price Change


The GM made Chevrolet Suburban is a full-size SUV, one of the most popular categories of vehicles within the U.S. The 2017 model has been significantly revamped and changed to keep it looking modern and fresh, although it retains the powerful 5.3 liter V8 fitted with the EcoTec3 system that shuts down cylinders to help with fuel consumption.

For 2017 model year Suburban received almost the same changes as smaller Tahoe. There are some new colors and wheels available, a new name for top-end trim, plus some new advanced features, such as active grille shutters. Just like before, there are two drive layout options and three trim levels for each. The equipment list is overall wider than respective ones for Tahoe.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban LS

This is the basic trim for the model, since the car price is over $50,000, you could expect quite a lot even for the simplest configuration.
Interior: here you could find advanced multimedia with 8-inch, 6-speakers, 5 USB ports, Apple Car Play and Android Auto support; premium cloth bucket seats in front (driver is 10-way powered); leather-wrapped steering wheel; remote start and keyless entry; cruise control; three-zone climate.
Exterior: 18″ alloy polished wheels, roof rails, heated and powered mirrors.
Safety: Rear-view camera with rear park assist; brake assist; stability control with traction control; 10 airbags.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban LT

LT adds some more features to the SUV, like leather trimmed front and second row seats; premium sound system (digital amp, subwoofer, 9 speakers, noise compensation); heated front bucket seats with position memory (2 positions); powered liftgate with its release height adjustment. As for safety features, there are lane keep assistant and forward collision warning available.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ now has new name – Premier. It is top-end trim level for this vehicle. The interior features includes 12-way power front seats with heating and ventilation; keyless entry with push-button engine start; power tilt and telescopic steering wheel with memory function; power release of second row with power folding of the third row seats. Exterior changes include larger 20-inch alloy wheels, front park assist, fog lights, xenon headlamps. Power liftgate has received hands-free open function. As for safety equipment, Premier also receive blind zone and lane change monitor and rear cross traffic alert.

First snippets of information regarding the update started in 2013, although it has taken GM till now to have the car ready; first orders will be available in late 2016.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban redesign

The redesign has been carried out by Hennessey Performance, a specialist tuning company with a reputation for delivering something special, regardless of make or model.

As part of the redesign, the fifth door and hood have been made from aluminum, meaning a slight weight reduction. Other differences are slightly redesigned headlights, LED daytime running lights and the chrome grille. The LTZ trim option offers xenon headlights as standard.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban MSRP starting at $51,110 for the 2WD LS trim.
The price range for the SUV is the following:

  • 2WD LS: $51,110;
  • 4WD LS: $54,110;
  • 2WD LT: $56,240;
  • 4WD LT: $59,240;
  • 2WD Premier: $65,425;
  • 4WD Premier: $68,425.All prices are manufacturer suggested retail ones, so there might be some changes depending on dealership location.

The equipment list for the Suburban is quite impressive; keyless access, six USB ports, next generation MyLink ICE with an 8” touchscreen, options include an entertainment system for the rear passengers also – Blu-Ray player and integrated screens.

There is also further legroom for the rear passengers and the rear seats can be folded down at the touch of a button.

The 2017 Suburban is fitted with a V8 5.3 liter engine, but the experts at Hennessey have also reworked that; adding a mechanical supercharger, updated ECU and other various improvements that see maximum power up to 355 BHP.

No performance figures have yet been released, but with the slight weight reduction and improved performance, it is sure to feel pretty sporty.

The vehicle has a maximum towing weight of 3.6 tons.

2017 Chevrolet Suburban diesel is still unavailable in SUV’s model lineup, Suburban comes exclusively with gasoline V8.

    Why no data listed for what the MPG is? Gonna rate it, might as well tell us these numbers. ??? Don’t seem to find that info in the article. :/

    The 2017 Chevy Suburban will achieve a mileage of 27 miles per gallon. Constant high-speed will touch 32 miles per gallon on highway.
