Chevrolet Traverse Get a Slight Design Change, New Upholstery

In the spring of 2012, the premiere of the full-size crossover Chevrolet Traverse, which underwent extensive restyling, was held on the stage of the automobile exhibition in New York. The renovation seriously affected the design of the exterior, completely changed the interior and expanded the list of equipment offered, while the technical stuffing did not undergo any metamorphosis. What has changed for 2017 model year?

Updated Face

After the modernization of the Chevrolet Traverse has changed for the better: the front of the car hung the retouched headlights with a LED inserts, a pentagonal grille and a bumper with a “smiling” air intake, and behind – aggressive lights and a sculptural bumper with two exhaust trunks. Such improvements not only seriously improved the appearance of the five-door, but also made it much more solid and harmonious.

Compared to the predecessor, Traverse has a length of up to 203.7″, but in other parameters, on the contrary, slightly increased – 78.5″ in width and 69.8″ in height. Between the axles of the car prescribed 118-inch base of wheels, and its bottom is separated from the roadway by 7.2″.

New Center Console

Interior of Chevrolet Traverse as a result of restyling has retained a recognizable architecture, but it received a more modern and noble-looking central console – it has a multimedia center with a large screen and a stylish block of climate control.

In addition, the crossover improved the quality of finishing materials.

In the US, the 2016 model is implemented in five trim levels – LS Base, LS, 1LT, 2LT and Premier. Prices for the car start from 28,700 US dollars, the better trims costs from 42,045 dollars. The standard crossover has seven airbags, air conditioning, 17-inch wheels, multimedia installation, power windows of all doors, cruise, rear view camera, ABS, EBD, ESP, BA and other equipment.

Still No Choice

The technical stuffing of the American SUV after the upgrade has not changed, as are the indicators of dynamics and economy. Under the hood of the car is an atmospheric V6 gasoline engine with a 3.6-liter direct injection, developing 281 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 266 ft lb of peak torque at 3400 rpm (with an improved exhaust system it is 288 horses and 269 ft lb).

With this engine, only 6-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive or automatically-activated all-wheel drive (with a multi-plate clutch that activates the rear axle) are installed. Constructively restyled Chevrolet Traverse repeats the predecessor: Lambda platform, carrying a body, independent suspension in front and behind (correspondingly MacPherson struts and “multi-lever”), brake discs with ventilation on four wheels and hydraulic booster (optionally with variable characteristics).
