2017 Ford Super Chief And Another Concept Pickups

Car production is a long and unpredictable process at times. It takes a while for an auto to make it from the project to the factory and to your garage then. There are a lot of cases when concept cars are very different from final result. Like 2017 Ford Super Chief. So, let’s look through the most interesting concept pickup trucks.

2017 Ford Super Chief

This is an excellent combination of luxury and latest technologies. The new Ford Super Chief has stunning design ready to excite with the style. It is interesting that this concept is mainly based on F-250 truck which debuted almost a decade ago. The announced model has already gathered a lot of public and media attention being represented as a future auto of unique design.

The vehicle is going to be made of aluminum mostly. Its look has some resemblance with Atlas Concept. The car unites elements of King Ranch along with F-Series. Speculations are that the pickup truck will use V10 SOHC engine with 30 valves and 6.8 litres of displacement. Its productivity is said to be 550 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Don’t ask about 2017 Ford Super Chief price – its a concept vehicle, so it’s impossible to buy. By the way, the production of one concept vehicle cost manufacturer a few hundred thousand dollars, sometimes even a few millions.

2017 Ford Atlas

Another interesting concept pickup in this line is known as Atlas. Its design ideas can be seen borrowed for many trucks by Ford. Among them is Super Chief as well. In addition, there are rumors saying that 2018 Ford Bronco concept is mostly based on Atlas design. Bronco is promised to inherit its platform.

Nevertheless, Atlas concept car has front lights which are double-decked with wind resistant grille. Its glass roof looks good as well as its interior which uses colours of black and gray. The model is going to use V8 type of engine with 5.0 litres, 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque.

Ford Power Stroke

It is a common case when concept ideas evolve in the process of car manufacturing. 1994 Power Stroke is a good example of it. It has made a long way to be presented as an aggressive and powerful vehicle. It was designed as an example of good and extraordinary style. However, later on the car was made closer to traditional F-150.

It turned out to be a smooth bodied car with quite a long wheelbase. It was a working breed in fact. The model was equipped with 7.3 litre V8 engine providing 210 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque.

Thus, concept pickups have many things modified before they got to the market. Some of them stay untouched though which is more of an exception than a rule. However, some of them share best ideas as trendsetters which become used in production of other vehicles.
