The GMC Terrain is one of the best-selling crossovers in the U.S., competing against the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. The 2017 update will mean that it gets a fresh new look, both internally and externally, and should see some new tech fitted.
2017 GMC Terrain release date
GMC haven’t released any details of production dates or when it will hit the showrooms, but given that the update is long overdue and what some reliable sources are saying, we expect to see the model shown to the public in early 2017, with sales happening mid-2017.
Release date: mid 2017

2017 GMC Terrain redesign
There are lots of different changes on the new model, but depending on the exact model, there will be many different styling elements on the exterior.
The front has seen significant change; it seems more muscular.
There is a new chrome grille, LED daytime running lights, a restyled front fender and powerful headlights.
The Terrain will be fitted with a new range of 18” alloys, chrome trim on the mirrors and inserts on the sills and bottom of the doors.
The rear lights have also had some minor reworking as has the rear fender.

2017 GMC Terrain price
No prices have been released yet for this American market only vehicle, but the previous model starts around $22,000 and it is thought that the new version will compete in that price group. Added value will come from increased equipment and technology fitted, making the new Terrain more than competitive in the group.
2017 GMC Terrain interior
The interior has been tweaked slightly, spaces for mobile devices, restyled dashboard (making it more ergonomic and easier to read), bits of chrome here and there. It will of course have the multi-function steering wheel and has an excellent media system in the center console.
The front seats are what you’d expect, nothing that will set the world alight, but they do their job. The arm rest between the two front seats is big enough for both driver and passenger to fit their arms on and in the back, you’ll find more than enough space.
Overall, the quality of the finish has been improved upon, and it’s possible to spec leather for the finish in the cabin on the higher end models.

2017 GMC Terrain engine and transmission
Under the hood, you’ll find either a 4-cylinder 2.4 liter engine, producing a lowly 185 BHP or you can go for the more popular option; 3.5 liter V6 producing 305 BHP, which in something this size, is about what you need.
There are no options regarding transmission, GMC only offer the Terrain with a 6-speed auto, but you can have it in either front or all-wheel drive.
