No Need For Serious Changes In Infiniti QX50 For 2017


Debuted in New York, new 2017 Infiniti QX50 is not exactly all-new. There are only minor changes in appearance (updated front end with new grille and headlights with new filling), better trim materials, new options. Legroom increased due to body improvements.

But most importantly, the premium crossover increased in length by lengthening the wheelbase by as much as 3.1 inches. This growth has allowed free some room for feet of the second-row passengers. To be specific, additional 4.2 inches.

The updated crossover will be available for purchase at the end of 2016.

The cost of the new SUV will not change and will be about $36,000 as standard. The AWD option will cost around $2,000.

Update: exact price for 2017 QX50 is set to $35,645, AWD modification costs $37,445.

Refreshed Front

The front end of the restyling versions of the crossover has got a new hood with a relief forges, corrected headlamps shape along with LED Daytime Running Lights. Headlights equipped with xenon bulbs with Adaptive Front-lighting System. Modern bumper has expressive air intakes and a powerful plastic bodywork. Neat foglights integrated into the bumper, new exterior mirrors has got LED repeaters.

In profile, the body of updated Infiniti QX50 with stretched wheelbase has an attractive and harmonious silhouette. Coupe-shaped body crossover due to length gain and increased rear doors has gained more proportional appearance.
The rear end of the updated premium SUV has changed the least, mention only the emergence of a new bumper. In all other aspects, it looks like previous versions: compact tailgate glass topped with a miniature spoiler.

More Space

The interior of 2017 Infiniti has the most important thing – more space in the second row for legroom, wider and, of course, convenient for the landing door. The rest of the interior has not changed: the stylish architecture of the front panel and center console, comfortable seats, premium materials and finishes, along with a rich equipment.

External dimensions of the new body Infiniti QX50 are following: 186.8 in long, 70.8 in wide, 62.9 in height with a wheelbase of 113.3. While updating the engineers were able to increase the amount of ground clearance of the rear-wheel drive versions up to 6.8″, all-wheel drive modifications to 6.4″.

Good-old V6

Technical characteristics of the Infiniti QX50 2017 remained unchanged. The powertrain involves a petrol 3.7-liter V6 (VQ37VHR), issuing 325 hp, with 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode. The suspension is a fully independent with aluminum levers – double handle circuit in front and multi-link in the rear.

It is possible to buy Infiniti QX50 SUV not only with a drive layout only to the rear wheels but also with Infiniti’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.

Infiniti is no hurry for serious updates of QX50 - there is simply no need of any. Good V6 engine, rich level of equipment and OK design.
