Sedona was a Hyundai-KIA answer to popular family minivans like Sienna and Town&Country, and just like them, it is the great option for a big family for travel longer distances without any compromises. Let’s find out what 2017 KIA Sedona could offer.
Trim Levels – From L to SX Luxury
Actually, 2017 Sedona comes in a wide variety of configurations. However, it seems to be no changes in comparison with 2016 model year car, the set of trims remain the same. The engine is common to all cars, which is 3.3L V6. All trims also equipped with a wide variety of safety systems, such as 8 airbags, stability control, traction control, brake force distribution, hill start assist, tire pressure monitor, safety door locks. VSM (vehicle stability management) system available only in two latest trims.
Sedona L is the entry-level trim, which provide a very narrow list of equipment. The car doesn’t even have power mirrors. However, it already has almost everything you need from a family minivan.
In terms of exterior, L trim could be offered only in a limited set of colors – White, Silver and Black. The car comes with rear heated glass, 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler.
Interior wise, it is a proper family vehicle – 4-speaker 5-inch multimedia with touchscreen, Bluetooth and USB connectivity; 12V power outlets (2 in front, 1 in cargo area); rear view camera; keyless entry; power windows; tilt and telescopic steering column; two bottle holders and 12 cup holders. The interior trimming is only fabric for this configuration, only dark color available.
Sedona L started at $26,800 MSRP
LX goes not so far away from the standard L, adding power folding mirrors (heating is an option), standard privacy glass, power sliding doors and optional roof rails. The new interior features include optional 7-inch infotainment with Apple Car support, Satellite radio and UVO eServices; two extra tweeters mounted on the dash.
Most of LX equipment comes only with extra charge – such as leather trimming, heated seats, push-button start, parking assist, cruise control and a wide range of auxilary safety system like lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, etc.
Sedona LX started at $28,850 MSRP
EX trim is right in the middle of configuration hierarchy. You will get heated mirrors and roof rails as standard, as well as height-adjustable power liftgate, inaccessable even as an option for previous trim levels. Sedona EX also comes with fog lights and LED positioning lights. The car comes with 18-inch alloy wheels as a standard. That’s all exterior changes in comparison with LX.
As for the interior, EX comes almost with all optional equipent of LX, except most of advanced safety features (optional as well). For things you cannot receive in LX even with extra charge are two USB ports for device charging; Tri-zone automatic climate control; auto-dimming mirror; metal door trimming. Such a necessary options, like heated seats and rear park assist available here without extra charge.
Sedona EX will cost you $33,600 (MSRP without options)
SX is not bringing a lot to the equipment list, most of toys are available optionally. As a standard for SX, we could mention LED rear lamps, different marker lamps; 8-inch multimedia with navi, 8-speakers with subwoofer, 110V Power outlet; 4-way power adjustable driver’s seat, 8-way power adjustable front passenger seat. What is more important, SX has some premium features, like ventilated front row seats and heated second row of seats.
SX version of Sedona offers from $36,900 MSRP
Sedona SX Luxury
Or simply SXL how it officially named, features all possible equipment available for Sedona, but nevertheless, some of it is also optional. To begin with, let’s see what the most luxurious trim level could offer in terms of interior. SXL Sedona interior features the same multimedia as SX (8-inch display, navi, 8.1 sound with amp), one extra 110V outlet in cargo bay, 360-degree camera view, adaptive cruise control, leather trimming (premium leather is optional), second row with foldable center console, wood trimming for steering wheel (also heated) and doors. Cool two lounge seats for second row are available for order, as well as premium headliners, and dual power sunroof.

The most luxurious Sedona SXL price is $41,900 without options.
When Will It Be Available
Kia haven’t released any official date regarding the launch of the new Sedona, but as far as we know, we think it will be toward the late part of 2016.
Release date: already available
We believe that the pricing will remain the same for the existing model, this means the base model should start around $28,000, with the fully loaded version in the region of $40,000.
The new Kia Sedona isn’t something that you’d automatically recognise as a regular minivan; predatory LED headlamps, the ‘Tiger nose’ front grille and large 19” wheels give a different look to the vehicle, maybe part minivan and part crossover. Unlike most of the competition in this particular class, it doesn’t look boring, or ‘just another’ family vehicle – it actually has a bit of style about it.

Despite being unchanged in size (202.9” long, 78.1” wide and 68.5” tall), the new Sedona seems bigger, especially on the inside. The lines of the instrument panel seem to enhance that effect, and thanks to the soft plastic trimming, the overall effect of luxury and quality is present.
The seats take that a step further; trimmed in soft Nappa leather (the same as the premium sedan, the Quoris), the overall appearance of the interior is one of style, quality and luxury – definitely not your regular minivan.
The new Sedona is the only car equipped with YES Essentials technology, meaning that the interior is built for family life; the interior trim is easily cleaned (and hard to stain), but better than that, Kia says that it prevents the spread of germs and protects against static electricity.
The interior can transform in to a number of configurations; you can have three seats in the second and third row, have retractable footrests and individual armrests, perhaps even turn it in to one giant load carrying space. It must be said though, even without configuring it as a load lugger, there is still plenty of space and compartments for storing your daily life.

The new Sedona has a great UVO entertainment system fitted as standard. It will work with both Siri from Apple and Local Search from Google and along with Kia’s apps in the app store, the functionality of the new Sedona system grows exponentially.
The 2017 Sedona also becomes the first car by Kia that will be equipped with eServices remote control system; allowing the car to monitor the area, movement, time and speed limits.
There will also be a host of other ‘nice to have’ features; USB ports, 115v power outlet, a monitoring system to help with parking and manoeuvring in tight traffic, ‘Smart Welcome’ to illuminate the door handles and mirrors as you approach the vehicle and an intelligent luggage door which opens if the key fob is nearby for more than three seconds.

Safe and Powerful
The new 2017 Sedona is built upon the same platform as the current model, however, a few tweaks means that torsional rigidity is some 36% higher than its nearest competitor. Just over ¾ of the body is made from high strength steel, which means a reduced weight while still being tough and durable. The rear suspension is a multi-link setup and attaches to a sub-frame, even in the base model, the suspension is adaptive.
This means that the Kia Sedona is really safe; 5 stars, which is the highest NHTSA score possible.
The great looks are coupled to a new motor; a 3.3 liter GDI V6. It’s more powerful than the current motor – 280 BHP and 247 lb/ft of torque and runs through a slick 6-speed auto transmission.
