Updated in 2015 and debuted in Shanghai, the restyling ES from Lexus received new features which include all-new styling with new LED lights, more advanced multimedia, and better sound insulation.
More importantly though, a new 2.0-liter, 150 BHP engine has enabled Lexus to remain competitive in the sedan market, meaning that they are still considered a premium brand in the European E-Class market.
One and Only
ES 350 is one and only (except the hybrid one) modification of Lexus ES series… with only one possible trim level. Only marketing expert could expect such move, but it’s certainly limits possible buyers.
So, the car has a number of features, standard for mid-size sedan of the premium class: dual zone climate control, all power accessories, power sunroof, heated mirrors, satellite radio, remote keyless entry and leatherette seats trimming. From the outside, ES 350 features 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, rain sensors.
It’s not so much for a car like this, so Lexus offers lots of packages to choose from. Namely, luxury package (heated/ventilated front seats, unique trimming, powered steering column with memory); navigation package (also adds app support, voice command); ultra luxury package (adds power shade, power cushion extender for driver, panoramic roof, plus all features of luxury package); premium audio package.
We don’t expect any changes in ES 350 design, it is the same Camry-based front wheel drive mid-size sedan, with the body design, similar to the other Lexus-branded cars. 6th generation of car (XV60 body) debuted in 2012, then facelifted in 2015, with the production moved to Kentucky, US. So, we could not expect major change for year or two.
The price range for ES 350 is quite narrow. The MSRP price set on $38,900 mark – for the Base trim without any luxurious options. Fully equipped ES 350 with all possible options will cost you around $46,000.
We simply couldn’t imagine Toyota and Lexus models without a hybrid modification. Just like most Lexuses on the market, ES has also received one. The car has only 2.5L I4 instead of powerful V6, but assisted with electric motor. It’s not a racecar at all, but provides a great level of fuel efficiency – exactly what you may expect from a hybrid. EPA estimated figures are 40 mpg in city and 39 mpg in highway, which is unachivable for non-hybrid cars of such size.
In terms of configuration, ES 300h has exactly the same level as ES 350, with the same standard equipment list. The optional packages are exactly the same as well.
The 2017 ES Lexus will be available on the dealerships in the last quarter of 2016.

As it was mentioned above, the prices for the 2017 ES Lexus starting at just a bit less than $40,000 for the ES350, while the hybrid modification costs a bit more – almost $42,000. To be precise, the MSRP for ES series is following:
- Lexus ES 350 Base: $38,900;
- Lexus ES 300h Base: $41,820.
All prices are manufacturer suggested, so it may differ depending on location and dealership.
Changes to the new Lexus are fairly minimal; a luxury styled radiator grille, new LED headlights, restyled fenders and more modern sidelights in the shape of an ‘L’, having said that, the revised version does look quite different from the older, outgoing model.
The new design incorporates a new 17” rim and four new colors; Sonic White, Copper Brown, Deep Blue and Graphite Black, they give the new model a more refined look.
If you look at the photos, you’ll see that the new look ES has an element of sporty style about it.
