New Rumors About The Possible Release Of 2017 Mazda CX-7

The head of Mazda Australia, Martin Benders has hinted that the CX-7 model designation may be about to be revived. The new CX-7 will be more spacious and get an optional third row of seats, the model should fit between the CX-5 SUV and the CX-9, it’s expected to hit the showrooms sometime in 2017.

Our sources say that the new 2017 Mazda CX-7 release date expected in the late part of 2017.

The Japanese car maker will ‘restart’ the production of the CX-7 after the early production finish of the CX-3. The last CX-7’s were produced in the Hiroshima facility back in August 2012.

Mazda CX-7 2017 price will be between $21,000 and $27,000, although we expect to see them selling for approximately $25,000.

Not so much of a redesign; the only carry over from the old production model is the name, everything else is brand new. The CX-7 isn’t going to a sports crossover, but a practical, mid-size SUV with an optional third-row of seats, something akin to the Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail.

The new CX-7 2017 should sit right between the compact CX-5 and the larger CX-9.

New Generation of Skyactiv

We don’t know anything about the technical specifications as yet, but we believe that the new CX-7 will be built upon the Skyactiv chassis and will have the independent suspension as fitted to the CX-9.

It is thought that it will be fitted with an all-wheel drive system and an electronically controlled drive system.

V6 Power for new 2017 CX-7?

Naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines, a turbo diesel and 6-speed auto transmission are expected to be fitted, although because the new model is so far away, the engine specifications could change.

As part of Mazda’s ‘Pro-American’ philosophy, it’s possible that the turbodiesel may not make an appearance, but instead there will be a V6 gas engine.

Trim Levels Expected

There is no official confirmation regarding the future trim level specifications of the new Mazda CX-7, but we could expect that it will feature the same names and features used in smaller CX-5. Top trims promise the premium level of comfort and technologies. There could also be minor 2017 Mazda CX-7 2017 interior changes between trims.
