The 2017 Mercedes C300 Coupe is quite a car; looking beautiful, sporty, modern and expensive, all rolled in to a single automotive package. Better than that, it is absolutely packed with technology and features, especially once you start clicking on a few of the options boxes at the showroom.
Sure, there are some people that are saying that it isn’t that sporty, that it doesn’t look that good, but we think that Merc really have hit the sweet spot.
Look for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 Coupe in your dealership any time now really.
2017 Mercedes C300 Coupe release date: late 2016
Update: already available for sale
We think the price for the new C300 will start at a reasonable $40,000, which considering the package, we think is great value.
The new C300 Coupe is significantly different from the outgoing model, for a start there is an extra 3.1” in length between the wheels, 2.4” of that sits between the firewall and the front wheel axle. The overall appearance of the new Coupe seems to be more modern and stylish than its predecessor, the lines just look right; there is no one bad angle when looking at the exterior.
The detailing in the cabin is exquisite; all of the finishing touches, trim materials, buttons and accents have been put together properly; these cars are like the old Mercedes that were built to last, without things falling apart or stopping working.
We’ve listed some of the equipment choices, some as standard, some as options, but the choice is vast: Eco start / stop, panoramic roof, collision prevention assist plus, attention assist, LED DRL’s, active LED headlamps, crosswind assist, adaptive braking, blind spot assist, pedestrian recognition, active parking assist, rear view camera, surround view system and remote start via the Mercedes me app.
Under the hood, we will see the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder gas engine, which is of course, turbocharged, as seems the norm now with most manufacturers trying to find horsepower and economy. The motor produces 241 BHP and 273 lb/ft of torque, although you’d be hard pushed to feel that – it all seems a little breathy when you start pushing along.
We know that in Europe, there will be a choice of eight different engines, but as of yet, we aren’t sure how many of those choices will make it to the U.S.
Whatever motor choice, it will drive a 7-speed auto transmission (a brand new 9-speed is on its way and is expected to be fitted on the production cars within a year) that will send power to the rear wheels only or if you pick the $1200 option, the 4MATIC auto which will be all-wheel drive.
