Officially called the Scion tC Release Series 10.0, it seems that Scion (or rather the parent company Toyota), have decided that the Scion brand just isn’t working anymore. Initially Toyota created the Scion brand to attract a younger car buying audience, offering the sort of car (at least visually) that seems so popular with the young ‘uns.
It isn’t clear whether Toyota have decided to kill off the whole Scion brand or just the tC, what we do know though is that this will be the last of the tC models ever.
Whether the brand just isn’t appealing to the youngsters or they have missed the mark with the designs, there is no doubt that Toyota are losing sales (and therefore money).

2017 Scion tC Redesign and changes
This last tC has been tweaked up a little with some TRD parts and styling designed in partnership with Kei Miura. First off, the tC has been lowered using a set of TRD lowering springs, this should lower the center of gravity which in turn will sharpen up the handling, although perhaps affect the ride quality a little.
Scion have also fitted a TRD performance exhaust system; more noise and a little ‘throatier’, meaning that it actually sounds quite sporty rather than muted. To go with the sporty sound, Scion have restyled certain elements of the bodywork also, adding a few tweaks here and there, including lip-spoilers, restyled sills and new front and rear bumpers, the rear incorporating a diffuser style element.
2017 Scion tC Specs
Under the hood, we’ll see the same 2.5 liter 4-cylinder gas engine, which was never going to set the world alight – just 179 BHP, but it makes performance … reasonable – 0 – 60 MPH happens in 7.3 seconds which when compared to some of the other production vehicles isn’t that bad.
Body color is ‘Barcelona Red’ and Scion have carried on with the red & black theme throughout the car; red and black interior trim, including the shift gaiter, parking brake cover, steering wheel and seats; it’s black with red trimming and looks good.
Scion are determined that this will be the best production tC ever built.
