Controversial Interior Features

Luggage space the new Toyota C-HR 2017 promises to be just grandiose size. This is evidenced by the broad and spacious rear access door. Such an opening to let the driver easily fit in the trunk of almost any goods. Head lighting of the car was very interesting, as if with a squint.

Engine Choices

As it was claimed, in Europe the new car will be available with 1.2L I4 petrol turbocharged engine, developing 114 HP. The other option is a hybrid powertrain, similar to those installed on the latest generation of Prius. It is 1.8L naturally-aspirated Atkinson cycle engine, producing 97 HP plus electric motor develop 71 HP. The battery is Ni-MH and its capacity is 6.5 Ah.

Potential buyer could choose between 6-speed manual or CVT, 2WD or 4WD for 1.2T engine. The only option for hybrid is 2WD CVT.

US Goes Another Way

In the United States market Toyota decied to power C-HR by a more traditional powertrain – using good-old 2-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine, producing 144 HP and 139 lb-ft of torque. Strangely, the only option for US-spec car in terms of transmission is a combination of CVT and front-wheel drive layout.

The appearance of any other modifications for the US market is questioned.
