2017 Toyota Sienna updated review, release date info

The Japanese auto giant Toyota has updated the Sienna model.

The exterior of the car has changed a little: the model has received a new grille, bumpers and optics with LED inserts. The restyled version is constructed on the same platform as the Toyota Camry. Changes have been made to the interior of the car: now it is constructed from higher quality materials, and also the location of some controls has changed. The power unit of the updated Toyota Sienna has remained the same.

There is only one grade of Toyota Sienna and its main competitors are the Honda Odyssey and Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town&Country. According to many experts who have tested the Sienna, this vehicle stands out against the competition, far ahead of them on the level of comfort, convenience and reliability.

2017 Toyota Sienna redesign

The external changes can literally be counted on your fingers. The first thing that has changed is the grille, which is now available in several versions, depending on the configuration of the car. The headlights, reminiscent of those on the Toyota Camry sedan, are the second part of the body that have changed. In the optics have been added a thin LED strip for daylight running lights.

The bumper retains its massive and monolithic appearance with a pair of fog lights recessed around the edges.

In profile, the Toyota Sienna demonstrates a fairly simple and conservative form, decorated with 18-inch alloy wheels with six spokes. The minivan might seem a little unwieldy due to its large overhangs. The rear section along with revised headlights, looks very similar to the Lexus RX from 2003 to 2007. And on the trunk lid is now installed a new spoiler and a new radio antenna.

The interior will delight the owner with a high quality leather finish, inserts of soft plastic and a new center console. The latter, in terms of its design, is now very similar to the control unit of a spacecraft and includes a touchscreen multimedia system. In front of the driver is a color display on-board computer and analog instruments with white dials. Passengers on the second row can enjoy wide and high seats with folding armrests. However, the average passenger will only be able to be a small child. Also, passengers on the second and third row are provided with a multimedia system with a “ceiling” display.

2017 Toyota Sienna engine

Under the hood is working hard a 266-horsepower V6 engine with 3.5-liters in displacement. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and all power is transmitted to the front wheels. Acceleration from zero to 60, according to expert estimates, will take 8.4 seconds. Fuel consumption for a two-ton minivan will be 18 MPG in city mode. The steering is crisp and accurate, and the brakes are responsive and work linearly. Another advantage of the Sienna is excellent insulation even in the standard SE version. It is not possible to meet the wealth of equipment and technologies in the new Kia Carnival, but here is the most important thing: lots of practical space.
