The new Volkswagen Passat B8 was originally shown at the Paris motor show in 2014, then the Passat CC II was next at the Geneva motor show in January 2015. VW are now working on a modified version of the CC II.
2017 Volkswagen Passat release date
Initial thoughts and expectations were that the new Passat would go on sale sometime in 2016, that date has been postponed and the company now say that early-2017 is the most likely date, perhaps with a wagon version as well.
Release date: early 2017

The car will be produced in two different body styles; a wagon and a sedan. Production of the new models will run simultaneously, giving customers a choice for either without having to wait. The platform upon which the new model is being built is the MQB, which has been put to work in a number of vehicles already; Audi A3, VW Golf Mk7, Skoda Octavia 3 and a number of other concept cars.
Volkswagen haven’t released any official photos as such, but they have released a couple of teasers. From those small snippets, we can see that the new Passat CC II has a completely restyled grille and fenders (which may become a signature for all future models) and new side windows at the rear. Also, rumors suggest that the new CC II will be approximately 3/8” longer than the standard sedan version.

2017 Volkswagen Passat interior
It’s inside the vehicle that the Passat truly amazes; space inside the cabin has always been good, but there is yet more of it in the new model, it will easily seat three adults in the back.
There is a new and ergonomically pleasing multi-function steering wheel, housed in the center console are the media and climate systems and the trunk has increased in size also, now it can hold up to 586 liters.
