2018 Audi A4 might change its face

By

The Audi A4 was first introduced in 1994, as a successor to the already popular Audi 80, the 2018 model will be the sixth generation of the A4, although if you include the 80 as well, that would be the 14th generation! The 2018 Audi A4 is a premium sedan, packed with technology, high quality trim, decent motor and sharp handling (without being overly jarring or crashy).

Style wise, we don’t expect to see that much difference between the new generation and the outgoing model, there will of course be minor updates to some components, mainly regarding the ‘face’ of the vehicle – a different look at the front makes it much easier to distinguish cars, therefore making sales a little easier.

2018 Audi A4 Release date

Looking at the model life-cycle and Audi’s launch history, we think that the new 2018 Audi A4 will be launched late 2017 in Europe and early (perhaps February) 2018 for an American debut.

2018 Audi A4 Price

Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the pricing structure, but obviously the new A4 has to compete in a strong market. We expect to see a small price hike, thanks to the technology and inflation, but the base model should start in the region of $37,000.

2018 Audi A4 Redesign and changes

Aside from an updated grille, headlights and tail lights, there won’t be much changing on the exterior of the new A4, although it has to be said the A4 still looks fresh and stylish. Having said that, the new A4 is Audi’s best ever effort at drag reduction; it has a 0.23 drag coefficient, which is only bested by the new Mercedes-Benz CLA.

2018 Audi A4 Equipment

Along with that, Audi are packing this premium sedan with technology, including the Digital Cockpit Tools Collection; this features such tech as inductive phone charging, 30 hues of ambient illumination, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Of course, there are numerous options to add further tech at a price: Traffic Assist – a radar based semi-autonomous system that works up to 40 MPH, Exit Warning – for the passengers exiting the vehicle and full LED or bi-xenon lighting.

2018 Audi A4 Specs

Under the hood, we’ll see a new 2.0 liter 4-cylinder gas engine, producing a reasonable 220 BHP, which when compared to some of the competition isn’t huge, but it’s definitely enough. Power will be sent to the road through a 6-speed auto transmission, this will also have an auto / manual setup. We expect to see either a 7 or 8-speed full auto being added to the line-up later in the production process.
