2018 Audi Q3 gets bigger, more aggressive

By

The next generation 2018 Audi Q3 is expected to be released soon. The Q3 was first introduced back in 2011 as a compact crossover. It combines a good deal of SUV practicality with a blend of normal car. This market is expanding and becoming ever more popular and competitive.

So far, Audi have been one of the leaders of the sector, but as the other manufacturers catch up, Audi needs to raise the bar again to become the leading manufacturer.

Audi haven’t released any official information about the 2018 Q3, but our sources are confident that they’ve got all the information we need.

2018 Audi Q3 Release date

As we’ve already stated, Audi have remained tight lipped about specs for the new model, but it has been seen testing on public roads, albeit under heavy camouflage.

We think that Audi will launch the new 2018 Q3 toward the late part of 2017.

2018 Audi Q3 Price

Pricing is a little vague, but due to the market being so competitive, Audi can’t afford to raise the price too much, rumors put the price between $33,000 and $38,000, although of course ticking a few of the options boxes will push that up.

2018 Audi Q3 Specs

Let’s start under the hood; as far as we know, we think that Audi will use one of two motors; a 2.0 liter 5-cylinder turbo that produces 200 BHP and 207 lb/ft of torque, or the newer 2.5 liter 4-cylinder turbo that makes in excess of 340 BHP and 330 lb/ft of torque.

Perhaps they’ll launch the Q3 with the less powerful motor and then introduce the more powerful version later in the production process. Power will be sent to the wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, but there will be a 7-speed S-Tronic option as well.

2018 Audi Q3 Redesign and changes

It’s also believed that the compact crossover will get stretched slightly; between 2” & 2.75” longer, 2” wider and possibly a little lower, this will give the appearance of being more aggressive. Despite the size increase, it should lose a little fat thanks to better materials in the construction. It’s difficult to say whether that extra couple of inches will make a difference to the interior space though.

2018 Audi Q3 Equipment

Expect the usual array of technology and features; Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB, Bluetooth, keyless entry and ignition, park assist, blind spot monitoring and a number of other safety features. It looks as though Audi will be using touchscreens to control the updated infotainment system and perhaps driver assistance.
