Cadillac are looking to take the fight to the compact SUV market with a semi-luxurious smaller SUV, the Cadillac XT3. It was first rumored to be arriving in 2015, but then Cadillac postponed the plans, now looking to launch in 2017.
In fact Caddy are that determined to make the XT3 a best seller that they have put the CT3 sedan plans on hold while they concentrate on the XT3.
Very little factual information is known, some suggest a front-wheel drive platform, others say rear-wheel drive and of course, then we have an all-wheel drive version as well.
2018 Cadillac XT3 Release date
We believe that the 2018 Cadillac XT3 will hit the showrooms in late 2017, ready to be designated as the 2018 year model. We don’t expect to see it any sooner though; little information exists as yet, that means that Caddy aren’t that far in to product development.

2018 Cadillac XT3 Price
Despite being a compact SUV, the Caddy XT3 isn’t cheap, although it is competitively priced – we think prices will start in the region of $30,000 to $35,000.
2018 Cadillac XT3 Redesign and Changes
As we’ve already mentioned, there is no definitive answer as to whether the XT3 will be front or rear wheel drive; some have said that it will be built on a Malibu chassis, meaning front, but for the market and price, we’d expect rear.

2018 Cadillac XT3 Interior and Equipment
On the inside, we’re expecting to see a slimmer center stack, allowing for more room for the passengers, less cluttered dash – much of the control options will be moved to the touchscreen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof and even reclining rear seats could be optional.
Expect the usual toys and tech to be fitted; USB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a number of built in safety systems fitted as standard, even on the base model.
2018 Cadillac XT3 Specs
A minimum of two engine choices; a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder with around 220 BHP and 245 lb/ft of torque and perhaps a 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo with 400 BHP. It would seem that transmission choices at the moment would a 6-speed auto, but we do know that Caddy are developing a new 8-speed auto, so fingers crossed that it will be ready in time for the launch.
Thanks to a relatively low weight, efficient engine, 8-speed transmission, we think the smaller engined XT3 should hit over 30 MPG on the highway – that’s decent considering the style of the vehicle and 200+ BHP.
