2018 Chevy Equinox is a new generation of mid-size family crossover SUV.
The Chevrolet Equinox is one of the best-selling vehicles in the Chevy stable and has seen year on year increase in sales; 238,192 in 2013 to 277,589 in 2015. The next gen version for 2018 will drop a few sizes to compete in the compact crossover market, competing with the likes of the Honda CR-V. It’s a very competitive market.
2018 Chevy Equinox Release date
The new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is already under production, the internet is full of spy shots of the camouflaged version out testing on public roads. We think it should hit the showrooms in the early part of 2017.

2018 Chevy Equinox Price
Thanks to being in such a competitive market, it’s unlikely that Chevy will raise the prices too much over the current model (and the competition), so expect to see the base model up for sale for around $23,600.

2018 Chevy Equinox Interior and Equipment
Inside the fully upgraded and redesigned cabin, Chevy will fit the updated MyLink infotainment system, using either a 7” or 8” touchscreen, there will also be OnStar with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot, capable of hosting up to 7 devices. There will also be Apple CarPlay and Android Auto fitted as standard.
The crossover is built upon GM’s ‘Delta’ architecture, seats 5 adults and uses the same suspension componentry that we’ll find on the new Envision.
As regards the exterior styling, it’s all new but unmistakably Equinox. Chevy have gone to great lengths to disguise the exterior while out road testing, but from what we can see, the lights, grille and bumpers are completely restyled, giving the new Equinox a new look entirely.
2018 Chevy Equinox Redesign and changes
Starting under the hood, there will be three new motors, including a diesel!
The base model will be fitted with a 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder turbo charged gas engine which should pump out in the region of 170 BHP, next up will be a 2.0 liter turbo producing 252 BHP and then we’ll see the new diesel; 1.6 liter turbo diesel with four cylinders. It only makes 163 BHP but an incredible (and useful) 236 lb-ft of torque. It will be interesting to see just how the diesel sells in America.
Power will be sent to the front wheels only as standard, but there is an option for a brand new all-wheel drive system. All gas motors are coupled to a new 9-speed auto transmission but no details have yet been revealed for the diesel, it’s possible that it will run through a 6-speed auto.
