The Chevy Suburban is a big and boxy looking SUV, it really isn’t a good looking vehicle when you compare it to some of the offerings from other manufacturers, however, it is still pretty popular.
The current generation Suburban is the 11th generation. There is a huge amount of speculation relating to the new 2018 Chevy Suburban, none of it has been confirmed, so much of this article is based on what we think we’ll see in the update.
2018 Chevy Suburban Release date
We think that Chevy will announce the launch date for the new 2018 Chevrolet Suburban in the early part of 2017, with the model hitting the showrooms later in the year, around September or October.

2018 Chevy Suburban Price
This really is the first area that people disagree on; some industry insiders are saying that prices (depending on specification) will range from $51,000 to $90,000. We think that the base price is about right; around the $55,000, going up to $75,000 for the fully loaded top trim level with everything fitted.
2018 Chevy Suburban Redesign and changes
The overall design of the Suburban isn’t pretty, but it does seat 9 people in comfort, so you have to pay the price for all that room somewhere. The new 2018 model will be lighter which should help with mileage and ride quality, although there is talk of updated and retuned suspension to go alongside the reduced weight, there will also be adaptive damping on the higher spec models.

2018 Chevy Suburban Specs
There is a lot of speculation regarding powertrain; we think the old 5.3 liter V8 will be on the way out, to be replaced by a 6.2 liter V8 producing 420 BHP and 460 lb/ft of torque, there is also rumor of a smaller 3.6 liter V6 twin turbo, producing in excess of 400 BHP. It isn’t just the motor that’s under discussion; we have heard three different rumors regarding transmission – some say a 6-speed, others say 8-speed while we think it is more than likely that Chevy will fit GM’s latest 10-speed auto- not only will this make gear changes super smooth, but the added ratios should help to keep economy under control also.

2018 Chevy Suburban Equipment
Expect to see the usual toys fitted; adaptive cruise control, three zone climate control, parking sensors, lane guidance and lane assist, rear facing camera and for the first time in the Suburban, the new autonomous driving mode from GM.
All in all, the new Suburban will be a significant upgrade over the current model, but it’s still ugly.
