The main change is gearbox

The first, and perhaps most important feature – just after F-150 Raptor and rival Chevy Camaro ZL1, 2018 Ford Mustang received a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic transmission is paired with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and V8 engine with the displacement of 5.0 liters.

The exact ratings of the power units have not specified yet. What is more, engine range suffered losses, although only minor ones. It is 304 HP V6 unit, which was actually not popular at all.

The Mustang suspension received some changes – now even the basic Mustang can be equipped with electronically controlled shock absorbers MagneRide previously available exclusively on Shelby GT350. In addition, the list of auxiliary assistance systems expanded. In particular, the sports car received a lane departure warning system and the automatic braking in the event of a risk of collision with other vehicles or pedestrians.

Minor redesign
