New 2018 GMC Sierra Get Push Button Start In All Trims

The current generation of premium GMC pickups has received a small update of the exterior, while the high-grade new generation can be expected in the form of a 2018 GMC Sierra. The new pickup truck will have significantly upgraded the platform, which will also receive the next generation 2018 Chevy Silverado. The engines remain the same, but will also be upgraded. It is expected the emergence of more economical V6 turbo engines for the model 1500. The interior will undergo some serious changes.

More Chopped Design

New GMC Sierra 2018 will receive even more “chopped” design, a larger radiator grille. It is likely that the pickup will increase in size a bit, but this is not confirmed. Overall, the design of the truck will remain in the same style as the current model GMC – an abundance of chrome, large badge on the grille, consisting of red letters. The wide wheel arches and large wheels emphasize the “muscularity” of the truck. However, we don’t expect the full redesign.

The interior is expected a significant number of changes. First of all, massive front panel and center console a thing of the past. It will be more modern. The central tunnel will be slightly higher. Gear selector will be moved to center tunnel and may be made as a small joystick, however, it is just a rumors. 2018 GMC Sierra all terrain modification is likely to be updated as well.

2018 GMC Sierra colors range might be revised, adding new colors, removing the less popular ones.

Denali Trim

Top-trim Denali will remain in model line, featuring more exquisite upholstery and trimming, making the new 2018 Sierra Denali even more luxurious than before. It is not only a trim level, GMC Sierra Denali has improved noise insulation, and suspension changes to provide more comfortable ride.

When Does the 2018 GMC Sierra Come Out

When will the 2018 GMC Sierra be released? We expect late 2017 or early 2018 year. So far more than the exact date remains unknown. It is possible that there will be a presentation of new items within any of the North American auto show where we could see 2018 GMC Sierra concept.

Release date: 2018

The new pickup truck will become more technologically advanced, so we expect a slight increase in cost. At the moment, the basic version costs about $30,000. The model of 2018 can be slightly more expensive, by around $1,000.

2018 GMC Sierra Modifications and Changes

Traditionally, the Sierra is available in three versions – 1500, 2500 and 3500, differing in size and power units. The current generation is equipped with a naturally aspirated V8 and V6 engines, 6.2L V8 block might be kept for traditions. It already has cylinder deactivation function, in the next generation, Sierra engineers will try to decrease the fuel consumption even more.

All Sierras will have new 8-speed shiftable automatic debuted this year. Layout options stay the same: Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The 2018 GMC sierra HD models, will retain the same diesel units installed in 2017 model year trucks.

Sierra 1500

The smallest standard modification of Sierra, is likely to have the same 285-HP aluminum block V6 will likely to stay as a standard modification. Instead of 5.3L V8, there might be a new turbocharged V6, which could be based on the same 4.3L block. However, brand new turbocharged V6 might appear, with less displacement, to compete with Ford’s EcoBoost.

New 2018 GMC Sierra Z71 will come with retuned suspension and other tweaks.

GMC Sierra 1500 diesel will stay unavailable for this modification.

Sierra 2500

2500 model might lose standard 6-liter V8. The basic engine will be a new more compact Duramax turbodiesel.

However, it might be difficult to completely get rid of gasoline V8, especially for sales. The gearbox remains the same 6-speed automatic.

More HP in the gas engine for the 2500 Denali Please!

  • Shawn Castator

I really hope they move the shifter. I don’t like it be connected to the wheel, like old school trucks. Maybe give us push button start. Just my opinion.

    • Conroy Shields

I agree .floor shifter is best and can still have a spacious console. No more column shifter on all GM vehicles!

    • Geoff Cole

I prefer the shifter on the wheel. Makes the most sense for space and its nice that it is not electronic as its quicker when switching between D and R for instance. Problem with latest generation of GM pickups are the difficulty keeping the windshield condensation free during foggy days or winter days with high precipitation. Defrost vents do not go far enough on either side of windshield. Other then defrost and a not very intuitive infotainment system they are great trucks. GM engineers should drive around in the large Mercedes SUV’s for a few weeks to get some ideas of how to properly integrate technology into the best pick-up truck made.

      • Shawn Castator

Yeah, they could work something out like Ram has with their electronic shift knob and you’d keep the console space and still get better tech. As for the infotainment, it’s not too bad. Just use the android auto or Apple CarPlay. But they are nice trucks otherwise. Love that they still use high strength Steel and a V8 with power. Better for towing.

Heated back seats would be nice. All the competition has it.

How about some more Horse Power??? Getting the 6,2 LS3 engine over 550HP like in the Camaro’s???? When your spending $65,000.00 for a half ton pickup (GMC Denali like I did in 2017) You expect it to have more horsepower than Ford’s Eco Boost V6. They have a 450HP engine and 470# of Torque. Come on guys stop giving us the same old engine we have been getting for the last 5 years. You are charging us plenty of money to give us something Better. GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND GO TO WORK AND EARN YOUR MONEY AND KEEP US AS CUSTOMERS!!! OR WE WILL BE DRIVING FORD’S !!!!!!
