2018 Honda Odyssey specs
For now, it is unclear what will happen under the hood of the new version. Most likely, the V6 engine will still be placed on the Odyssey, it will be slightly improved. Displacement will remain the same – 3.5 liters. Power output will be around 280 HP. Transmission will be borrowed from the crossover MDX – the same 9-speed automatic transmission.
The second option might be turbocharged 1.5-2.0 liter engine similar to the one that is set in the latest version of the Honda Civic. It will be available for entry-level trims.
To compete with the Chrysler Pacifica, namely with its hybrid version, Honda also equip its minivan a hybrid powertrain. This can be a classic hybrid, or Plug-in version with lithium-ion battery. It will be based on a compact turbo engine in combination with a powerful electric motor. This will provide sufficient performance on a par with excellent fuel efficiency.
