CEO of North American Hyundai division Dave Zuchowski recently confirmed that 2018 Hyundai Sonata received a facelift. To remind, the current generation car was firstly released three years ago, in 2015. It is a very narrow time line for a typical facelift, so it means that Hyundai has considered North American market of mid-size sedans very seriously.

2018 Hyundai Sonata price
It is unlikely that Hyundai change prices for 2018 Sonata in such competitive segment. So, we expect the same pricing for the car, starting from around $22,000 for a standard trim car.
2018 Hyundai Sonata redesign
All confirmed information regarding 2018 model year update of Sonata is connected with the announcement of US division of Hyundai CEO. He claimed that 2018 car will get completely different front fascia, beautiful and good executed. No more details were provided.
We suppose that Sonata will become more elegant and unique, lose its too-conservative notes in styling, in comparison with Altima.
The side parts and rear end will likely remain the same.
As long as we don’t have all information, we could only guess that the interior also has possibilities to be updated.

2018 Hyundai Sonata specs
There is a very strong possibility that specifications of facelifted Sonata will remain exactly the same as in the current generation car. So, the basic version will be equipped with 2.4-liter inline four cylinder engine, producing 185 HP.
There will be more pricey, but less powerful Eco-friendly modification, equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with GDI technology, producing 178 HP. The implementation of turbocharged units helps to increase fuel efficiency level up to 28 mpg in the city.
Just like 2017 MY car, 2018 Hyundai Sonata won’t have a V6. It might be an issue, but new 2-liter twin-turbocharged unit produces 245 HP with impressive 21/30 mpg fuel consumption rating.

2018 Hyundai Sonata hybrid
Unlike the current hybrid Sonata, which has 2-liter naturally aspirated GDI engine as the main unit, the 2018 one might switch to a more fuel-efficient turbocharged unit, used in Eco modification. With the implementation of powerful electric motor and capacious battery, it may lead to the impressive level of fuel consumption, up to 45 mpg in the city. However, the price of such combination might be too high.
