Infiniti are the luxury arm of Nissan, just as Lexus is with Toyota. They have made a reputation as one of the most luxurious brands available on the market today, the new 2018 Infiniti QX80 will go further to enhancing that reputation.
The QX80 last got an update in 2015, although it has to be said, only minor. There are mixed reports as to how far Infiniti are going with this next update; some say that the whole thing is being redesigned, others say that it will be a minor styling exercise, and from what we know, we tend to agree with the smaller updates, certainly as far as the exterior is concerned, perhaps being limited to restyled fenders, LED headlights and redesigned fog lamps.
2018 Infiniti QX80 Release date
As with information about the design, there are a number of conflicting reports; some say as early as next year, others saying that we won’t see the new model until 2020, however, given that Infiniti aren’t going the whole hog on the redesign, we think it more likely to be mid-2018.
2018 Infiniti QX80 release date: mid-2018
2018 Infiniti QX80 Price
It’s expected that the new 2018 QX80 will start at around the $80,000 mark, perhaps a little less, but again, the price could be dictated by the level of redesign.

2018 Infiniti QX80 Redesign and changes
We know that the fenders will be redesigned, but we also think that the roofline will be slightly higher, giving more headroom, this fits with the rumors of the cabin being overall more spacious.
The whole package will ride on newly designed 22” wheels, which if Infiniti have it right, should work quite well, however, large rims can lead to poor ride quality, so perhaps they really do need to work hard on that area.

2018 Infiniti QX80 equipment
Of course, the QX80 will be fitted with all the latest technology; lane assist, blind spot monitoring, parking sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB ports and a new anti-collision system. The interior will be trimmed in high grade leather, with perhaps aluminum and wood accents.
2018 Infiniti QX80 specs
Perhaps the biggest change will be found under the hood; sources say that the existing power unit will be replaced by a 5.6 liter V8 gas engine that should be good for 400+ BHP and over 420 lb/ft of torque. Power will be sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed auto transmission and these figures should equate to a zero to sixty sprint time of 7 seconds and between 14 – 20 MPG, pretty good for an SUV of this size.
