2018 Jaguar F Type Is Likely to Be Facelifted

Jaguar first introduced the F Type back in 2013, quite simply, it was their saving grace – the public loved it; traditional but contemporary styling packed with a decent motor and sharp handling, this is how all sports cars should be.

For 2018, JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) will be updating the F Type, but it will still remain very much of the same recipe and styling; when you’ve got something this good, why ruin it?
Jaguar haven’t released much information officially about the new model, but it has been seen testing (under camouflage) at the famous Nurburgring track in Germany.

2018 Jaguar F type Release date

We think that Jaguar will unveil the new 2018 Jaguar F Type in 2017, perhaps a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March with sales happening later that year.

2018 Jaguar F type Price

It’s difficult to say what the price will be, but if they can bring it home for similar pricing to the current F Type, it means that the base model should start in the region of $65,000 and the range topping,,fully loaded version being just short of $130,000.

2018 Jaguar F type Redesign and changes

The new F Type has had a reasonable amount of change, but it is still very unmistakably a Jaguar F Type; the design was just too strong to change too much.

Long and low, the F Type was sleek, athletic and a little bit aggressive, the 2018 model will continue with that, although it seems that some of the vents cut in to the fenders may have been lost.
We do know that the fog lights have been redesigned and moved higher up in the bumper (meaning a new bumper design also), restyled air intakes, larger headlamps and a smaller grille (possibly to incorporate the larger headlamps). Depending on the choices picked, we could also see adaptive high / low beam system fitted.

At the rear of the car, we’ve seen spy shots of an active aero flap on the trunk and one without it, maybe this is two different specifications, or maybe JLR are evaluating them.

2018 Jaguar F type Specs

The chassis is all lightweight aluminum, featuring double wishbone suspension with active dampers and pushing the whole thing along is a choice of V6 or V8 mills, the V6 has power ranging between 340 – 380 BHP (spec dependent) and the 5.0 V8 will offer power up to 575 BHP. Choices of transmission are a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed auto, driving the rear wheels as standard, with an all-wheel option on the higher trim levels.
