2018 Land Rover Range Rover Get New Interior and Tech Features

By

Land Rover has already updated almost the whole family of premium Range Rover SUVs, even introduce the new Velar model, now the time has come for the standard Range Rover. Don’t expect radical changes for 2018 Range Rover, the changes are mostly limited to those appearing in other models of the brand. Nevertheless, it is important after all. Minor exterior changes, a few different tweaks to the interior, and a major change in terms of onboard hi-tech.

2018 Range Rover Changes

The exterior has changed only slightly. There are new grille, side vents and rear bumper design (now with integrated exhaust pipes), also a few new rims design are available. Interior brings much more changes:

  • Redesigned front seats (wider, more comfortable);
  • Seat adjustment controls moved to door panels;
  • Thicker glass;
  • Sunroof gesture control;
  • Interior air ionizer introduced.

The biggest change is connected with onboard electronics. Just like fashionable Velar, the basic Range Rover get the same double touchscreen infotainment system (each screen is 10-inch). Screens could demonstrate different information, the top one is used for multimedia, while the bottom one used for vehicle controls. Dashboard has become all-digital as well, it is a huge 12-inch TFT gauge cluster. The car also gets a 4G hotspot and could share the Internet connection for up to 8 devices at the same time. Safety equipment remains the same, include rearview camera, emergency braking system, parking sensors in front and rear. Adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring are optional.

Price and Release Date

The update won’t affect the price much. However, the Range kept in the higher league of premium (or even luxurious) sport utility vehicles. It means that price starting from $87,350 for the basic V6 gasoline model, and goes up to the skies – officially, $177,200 for the extended wheelbase model with the most powerful V8 in the lineup. It costs so without options, so the price tag could jump up to 3 times of the cost of the initial version. The updated SUV family is already available for order.
