2018 Nissan Rogue – Only Little Changes Expected

By

Nissan first introduced the Rogue back in 2007, as a 2008 model. It’s a compact crossover that sells in reasonable numbers, but it’s in a heavily competitive market. As you’d expect from a Nissan, build quality and reliability are good, it seems as though the Japanese manufacturers can’t build an unreliable car!

There has been quite a lot of official information released about the new model, perhaps the biggest unknown is the specifications of the hybrid version, which we are sure is happening, we just don’t know when or how much!

2018 Nissan Rogue Release date

The 2018 Nissan Rogue will be available in the showrooms from the later part of 2017 – around August we think. Nissan have said that a hybrid version will be available, but it won’t be launched at the same time as the gas version – it will come later in the production cycle.

2018 Nissan Rogue release date: late 2017

2018 Nissan Rogue Price

There is quite some speculation regarding the price of the new model, but we think that the base model will start around $25,000 – this puts it in line with the competition. The hybrid will be significantly more expensive, possibly putting it in the same range as the flagship gas model – this could be around $35,000.

2018 Nissan Rogue Redesign and Changes

Not much is going to change with the 2018 Rogue; expect to see the usual (and cheap) updates from the predecessor – Nissan will update the front end with new LED headlights, a redesign grille and different bumper, they’ll also be carrying that theme over for the rear as well – different lighting and bumper should give the Rogue quite a different appearance from the 2017 model.

2018 Nissan Rogue Specs

Under the hood, we will have the same 2.5 liter in-line 4-cylinder engine (naturally aspirated) that makes around 170 BHP and 175 lb/ft of torque, this will be coupled up to a CVT style transmission that will drive the front wheels as standard, with an ability to drive all four wheels. We don’t yet know whether the hybrid will use the same engine but with electric motors or whether Nissan will introduce it with a smaller engine. Gas mileage is reasonable, you’ll see around 26 MPG combined.

2018 Nissan Rogue Interior

We will see little change in the cabin either, expect the upgrades to mainly center around the trim materials used rather than the styling, although Nissan may update the center console and infotainment system at the same time – technology changes so quickly now that the infotainment system is almost outdated before the model hits the showrooms.
