Despite Toyota being one of the largest and most popular manufacturers in the world, the Toyota Corolla has been one of the least popular models ever produced by the automotive giant. The current model is the 11th generation and hasn’t seen much improvement or updating since 2011; it’s got to the point that if Toyota don’t do something soon, the model will die a death.
Toyota recognise this, and they are now working toward a new model which is assumed will be the new Corolla, but Toyota haven’t confirmed anything about it as yet.
2018 Toyota Corolla Release date
Toyota have remained silent on the new model, but we would expect to see the new 2018 Toyota Corolla available in the dealerships by late 2017, perhaps even just pushing back in to the beginning of 2018.

2018 Toyota Corolla Price
This is perhaps where most of the speculation is, but Toyota need to keep the new Corolla 2018 model year in the low price bracket or it just won’t sell – they need to rebuild the model’s standing, so expect to see the base model starting in the region of $18,000.
2018 Corolla Redesign and changes
We think that there will be a number of engine options with the new Corolla, which Toyota have confirmed will be worldwide options, although we do know that America won’t be getting any diesel options.

2018 Toyota Corolla iM
Corolla iM is actually a new 2018 Toyota Corolla hatch, rebadged from Scion iM car. We don’t expect any changes in this modification of Corolla.
2018 Toyota Corolla S
Corolla S is a sports trim level of the car. 2018 Toyota Corolla Sport modification now get SE trim only, while S trim is discontinued since 2017 model year. The car features 17-inch alloy wheels, sports dashboard, gloss-black sporty mesh grille.

2018 Toyota Corolla Specs
The base model is more than likely to get the new 1.5 liter normally aspirated 3-cylinder motor, there should also be a turbo charged version and a 1.8 liter 4-cylinder. Power will range from 100 BHP through to 180 BHP but there won’t be any more than that, we’d expect to see the 180 BHP motor arrive in the U.S. We could expect 2018 Toyota Corolla turbo as well, but it is less probable.
No mention of hybrids, but then that isn’t surprising as the Corolla is a cheap, low end car.
The new model will be built on the stiffer modular chassis (which debuted on the new Prius), this should help with ride and handling, but Toyota will also be upgrading the suspension with new stiffer shocks and springs.
2018 Toyota Corolla dimensions
Overall, the size of the Corolla will grow – longer wheelbase, wider and perhaps a little taller. This will help to increase passenger room but will also mean that the car will look better also – it has much better proportions than the outgoing model.
2018 Toyota Corolla Equipment
Expect to see the usual level of tech, even in the base model, Toyota will be loading it up; USB, Bluetooth, smartphone integration and a 6.1” touchscreen infotainment system.
