2019 Dodge Durango Expect A Few Changes

By

The Dodge Durango has been around since 1998, the first two generations were similar but the third (and current generation) went through quite a few changes.

The next Durango to be launched will undergo minor changes, and is being listed as a 2018/9 model, so we expect to see it around for a while.

As far as we know, there will be lots of variants; SXT, Blacked Out, Shaker and Custom to name a few, but they’ll all be the same basic Durango underneath the styling details. (The pictures we’ve seen of the Blacked Out version make it look awesome – we love it).

2019 Dodge Durango Release date

The Dodge Durango 2019 has already had its debut at the New York Auto Show back in late 2016. However, we don’t expect to see it hit the showrooms until much later this year, perhaps even early 2018, but Dodge have confirmed nothing as yet – keep checking back for updates. We could expect 2019 Dodge Durango concept car in the nearest future.

2019 Dodge Durango Price

The current base model starts at just over $25,000. Given inflation and the updated tech that we’re expecting to see, we think that Dodge will have to raise the price a little, so think in the region of around $28,000 – $29,000 possibly for the base model.

2019 Dodge Durango Redesign and Сhanges

This current generation received significant updates, so we aren’t expecting much. The show model had a slight restyling; updated bumpers, grille and lighting, including the rear lights; they look the same as the current model but have been fitted with LED technology.

As for what’s powering them, there are just two choices, both gas; a 3.6 liter V6 Pentastar engine with 290 BHP and 295 lb/ft of torque and the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with 360 BHP. 2019 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is also expected

Both engines are mated to a new 8-speed auto transmission, and it’s thanks partly to the new transmission that fuel economy has been upped by around 9%, although Dodge say that the new Durango is also lighter thanks to better construction materials.

2019 Dodge Durango Equipment

Inside the Dodge, there is a new infotainment system and updated voice control system, as to whether it works, we’ll just have to wait and see; most manufacturers can’t get the voice control to work properly, especially at anything approaching normal travelling speeds.

Of course there will be the usual safety equipment and toys; Bluetooth, smartphone integration – Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Blind Spot Monitoring, anti-collision, rear camera … everything you’d expect to find in this level SUV, in all trim levels including the 2019 Dodge Durango RT.

What do you think to the Durango? Is it something that you’ll be waiting for? Let us know
