The Ford Focus just has to be one of Ford’s most popular and well-received models that they’ve produced to date. In its lifetime, it has won over 60 prestigious awards, including The Car of the Year thirteen times (for a car that has been in production for 17 years, that’s a good strike rate!).
For the 2019 model year, Ford are planning a number of significant changes, although they haven’t officially announced anything as yet; we’ve been talking to industry insiders and automotive experts to get an understanding of where FoMoCo are going with the new Focus.
2019 Ford Focus Release date
Despite having test mules out on the public roads, the new Ford Focus 2019 is a long way off; it’s expected to make a public debut at one of the larger American auto shows in late 2017, then hit full production with a national dealer roll out in the second quarter of 2018 as a 2019 model year.
2019 Ford Focus release date: Q2 2018
2019 Ford Focus Price
Simply put, Ford can’t raise the price too much, otherwise they’ll push themselves out of the market, and it’s one they have dominated for over a decade. The current generation Ford Focus starts at $16,775, expect inflation and technology to increase the price slightly, but we’re still going to be looking at sub $20,000; that’s a lot of car for the money.

2019 Ford Focus Redesign and Changes
The test mules have shown us that the new model will be longer, wider and slightly lower than the current generation Focus, this mainly due to a completely new chassis. We have no visual clue as to what the body work may look like, but no doubt it will have similar styling to the current model.
Having said that, we have seen spy shots of the Wagon version, and really… we don’t think it will be that popular as 2019 Ford Focus sedan (to say the least). It could be a replacement for 2019 Ford Focus hatchback in some markets.
We also know that the odd dashboard is on its way out, to be replaced by something similar to that in the current Fusion, which will be much better received.
2019 Ford Focus Specs
As regards powertrain of the future Ford Focus 2019, we think that all engines will be of the EcoBoost brand, the base model may well have a small 1.0 liter three cylinder turbo charged engine, this will be enough for 140 BHP and 130 lb/ft of torque – not a firecracker, but useful enough to keep up with traffic both in the city and out on the highway.
2019 Ford Focus ST
The hot-hatch ST version is also planned to be released, but the actual release date of the car expected a year or so later than ordinary versions. The powertrain choice is unknown, but we could expect 1.5L EcoBoost engine providing about 240HP.
2019 Ford Focus RS
If you want something with a little more oomph, keep an eye out for the RS version with at least 280 BHP, which is also likely to be released later. It is almost certainly would have all-wheel drive system to cope with such power.
