Up until very recently, the future of the Jaguar XJ hung in the balance, it really was down to the very big boss at Tata (owners of JLR) to make the choice. Fortunately, he decided to keep the XJ line going.
Jaguar Design boss, Ian Callum: “We wanted to create something that is visually stunning on the outside and luxurious on the inside.
It balances style, performance and comfort in a unique way. It’s a car with many admirers and it’s a car that establishes Jaguar’s credentials in quite a cool way. We could address head room, but other changes could me more detailed. We have a cool car. We don’t want to lose that”.
There are rumors of 2019 Jaguar XJ coupe to compete with S-class coupe, but we suppose it is unlikely to happen.

2019 Jaguar XJ Redesign and Changes
The 2019 Jaguar XJ is based on the same D7a aluminum architecture, but some sections may be replaced by carbon fiber. what will 2019 Jaguar XJ look like? Nobody knows, but we could expect that the 2019 Jaguar XJ redesign keeps traditional forms.
Jaguar intend on reinventing the XJ as “indulgent, super-luxury”, so expect to see all the tech needed for autonomy and connected driving fitted as standard.
Jaguar XJ body style 2019 might be change to more sleek forms.
2019 Jaguar XJ Specs
Under the hood, there will be a choice of gas, diesel and possibly hybrid power, but we would guess that the diesel won’t make it to these shores. The engine will be a next generation Ingenium V6, and of course, it will be coupled to a super smooth multi (possibly 8-speed) auto transmission.
Jaguar also say that the interior will get a complete makeover, making it one of the most luxurious autos on the market. It’s competing head to head with the likes of the class leading Mercedes Benz S-Class, so it will need to be good if they are going to stand any chance of taking the Merc’s sales, which has dominated the market since its introduction.
We’re glad that JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) bosses saw sense and decided to carry on with the XJ.
Are you looking forward to the 2019 Jaguar XJ?
