The last Lincoln Aviator was in production for just three years; Lincoln pulled the plug on it because it was a sales disaster. They replaced it with the MKT which went on to become… another sales disaster, although it did last significantly longer than the Aviator.
The last Aviator rolled off the production line in 2005, but now Lincoln have said that the Aviator name will be making a comeback in late 2018 or early 2019, presumably based on the 2018 Ford Explorer platform.
They’ll certainly have to make a damn good car if they want to win back any customers, so expect decent equipment.
2019 Lincoln Aviator Release date
Little information has been released officially, but rumor has it that the 2019 Lincoln Aviator will be available in the late part of 2018, maybe even just running in to 2019 if they hit a few snags in production.
2019 Lincoln Aviator Price
Lincoln have said nothing about the price as yet, but this new 2019 Lincoln Aviator replaces Lincoln MKT which currently lists at just a little over $44,000. If Lincoln are intending on taking that market share, the price will have to be competitive; we’d expect to see it list in the region of $46,000.

2019 Lincoln Aviator Redesign and Changes
The new Lincoln Aviator will be based on the new Ford Explorer platform, hopefully that will prove to be a smart move by FoMoCo; the Explorer has always sold well for them. There are no actual 2019 Lincoln Aviator spy photos yet, but we believe it would look much like current MKX.
We don’t know 100% as to what engines will be fitted, but general consensus is that we’ll see at least three; 2.3 liter 4-cylinder turbo with 285 BHP, 2.7 liter EcoBoost twin turbo with 325 BHP and 375 lb/ft of torque and maybe a 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost. All engines will be coupled up to a 6-speed auto transmission on the early models, before Lincoln introduce a brand new 10-speed auto transmission for the later models.
Front wheel drive will be standard, but all-wheel will be an option.
2019 Lincoln Aviator Interior and Equipment
Expect to see all manner of updated or upgraded equipment for 2019 Lincoln Aviator redesign – Lincoln really need to hit the ground running with this model. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, updated infotainment system with large touchscreen should all be standard, along with the usual safety features; blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision, rear view camera and lane assist.
The interior will be high quality leather with supportive but comfortable seating on all three rows, it will seat 6 adults in comfort.
