Is it true? Ford brings Bronco back in 2016 in SVT Raptor

By

Ford are to bring back the Bronco brand in 2016 with the Ford Bronco SVT Raptor, the last one was released all the way back in 1996. Ford fans are excited! The new Bronco will be all new, including aluminum panels to help reduce weight and therefore increase efficiency. This new Bronco is based upon the concept SUV, the 2015 Ford Atlas.

Nothing official has been said about the new Bronco, so we’ve spoken to our insiders to try and get the lowdown on what this new Bronco could be.

2016 Ford Bronco Release Date

No-one actually knows if this model exists or when (if?) it’s going on sale, but we think we’ll see a launch (at least) by the end of this year – 2016.

2016 Ford Bronco possible price

There are plenty of rumors surrounding the Bronco, none of them have been confirmed, but industry experts are saying that any new Bronco would compete with the F-150 Raptor on price, so expect to pay in the region of $46,000 as a starting price.

Why it is popular? 2016 Ford Bronco Hoax

When rumors started regarding the revival of the old Bronco, the legions of Ford fans were full of wild speculation and anticipation; as far as they were concerned, this was monumental news. The previous Bronco found fame thanks mainly to the U.S. Border Patrol favoring them for their off-road ability and of course, the white Bronco that appeared on the worlds TV screens in a dramatic police chase with OJ Simpson at the wheel.

Fans were most upset when they learnt that the news of the new Bronco was just an April Fool prank, started by the website, Four-Wheeler. The website published images and information that seemed credible and the fans lapped it up.
While the fans were disappointed, it did lead to further speculation (and hope) that one day, Ford may just go ahead with an updated version.

2016 Ford Bronco Interior: SUV Mustang

The new Ford Bronco SVT Raptor will have a spacious interior, capable of seating five adults comfortably, and the seats will be adaptable and offer a good amount of support and comfort, especially for an off-roader. An interactive touchscreen will provide information and navigation, the 2-door version will be resemble the previous generation of the Bronco.

The usage of 2-door body and some interior elements reminds of previous generation Ford Mustang. It will be difficult to use rear seats without rear doors.

2016 Ford Bronco Specs: big engines only

The Bronco SVT is set to be one of the most powerful SUV’s released; the base model could have a 4.9 liter V6 motor fitted which produces 330 BHP and the models above will have a 5.0 liter V8, kicking out around 420 BHP. Again, this is just speculation though.

The flagship Bronco may have a 5.8 liter V8 fitted, this could see power levels as high as 662 BHP and the transmission is more than likely to be a 6-speed auto. Can you imagine just what a 5.8 V8 could do off-road?

What is the possibility?

We aren’t sure whether this will happen or not, but looking at the facts, we’d have to say it’s unlikely:

Market – For an auto company to commit to such a project, demand has to be high; a handful of customers means that economies of scale just don’t work. The Bronco would be niche; customers that don’t want a pickup but want just 3-doors on an SUV.

Practicality – V6 or V8, not much luggage space and only three doors – it’s definitely a limited market.

The only real sensible thing Ford could do with the Bronco name is to bring it back with something less niche, which means practical and reliable.

Summary

Bronco might have frame body and a very powerful V8 or V6 engine with a turbocharger, which make it ultimate off-road vehicle.
