Subaru isn’t going to stop on its 2014 Tribeca. It was a seven-passenger SUV which could boast about a mid-size. Today carmaker is determined to continue its experiments in the segment of mid-sized crossovers which include three rows of seats. Their auto which is still a concept which is going to arrive is known as Subaru Viziv-7 Concept. Its name is an abbreviation for Vision for Innovation which sounds rather inspiring. There’s not much news to tell yet but still, there’re some interesting details.
Subaru Viziv-7 Concept Overview
Compared to Subaru Outback the new 2017 Subaru Viziv is a bigger vehicle. The model 15 inches more in length. Its wheelbase is 117.7 inches while its whole body length is 204.7 inches. This is not that bad for the overall comfort of the Viziv Concept.
Additional 9 inches to the wheelbase make this model even better than Outback. When compared to other three-row SUVs Viziv is also larger which makes Subaru Viziv Concept a strong player on the market of crossovers. Even though such models as Ford Flex, Buick Enclave along with Chevrolet Traverse and Dodge Durango use wheelbases which are long enough they’re no match for 2017 Subaru Viziv.
This Concept has a wheelbase much longer than all of its mainstream competitors. The size is the big strength of Viziv Concept. It’s higher and wider than others. For example, its height is 73.2 inches with roof rails included (72.0 inches without them). The body of the car can boast about 79.9 inches of width. So this crossover is one of the best cars in its segment. All in all, Viziv Concept is a promising SUV which is going to turn all of its competitors into dwarves.
Subaru Viziv-7 Concept Exterior
If you look at Subaru Viziv Concept you’ll see that it’s really big and has a boxy shape. It is equipped with a pretty looking grille at the front part of the body. Its fog lights look brutal. The new model still reminds Outback when it comes to headlights and windows. The bodywork of the 2017 Subaru Viziv is said to be much better than you could ever imagine.
Subaru Viziv-7 Concept Engine
Nevertheless, there’re rumors which claim that Subaru Viziv Concept will be still named as Ascent. The fact is that the company has already registered its name with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Some of the leaked shots also show tests of the new SUV by Subaru which is of mid-size. It may well confirm this theory of names. If Viziv-7 will be named as Ascent the model is likely to use a turbocharged engine with four cylinders. Nonetheless, many sources do expect Viziv to inherit Outback’s engine. This is the 3.6-liter unit which is equipped with six cylinders.
Subaru Viziv-7 Concept Release Date
It is still quite early to make any assumptions but Subaru promises to release their mid-size SUV in the beginning of 2018. It is unlikely to expect Subaru Viziv under its name.
